A Chicken Doesn't Fly
Leonardo inspires Lisa to overcome her fears
and pursue her deepest aspirations in…

I know you're frightened for me.

You should be frightened too.
Only birds fly Leonardo.

No.  A bat flies... and I fly.
You might die.

But I'm willing to try.  Cause a chicken...
I know, I know...

A chicken doesn't fly!
You have a dream.  How can I let you deny it?
You long to be free;
how long can that man keep you quiet?
It's a world where we do or die.
Just hurl yourself from a dangerous branch,
unfurl your wings and take a chance!

It's an age for men who dare.
You may answer your own prayer.
You're not of the average flock.

So I should leap from the highest rock?

No.  Name your fear, then defy it.
But I'm petrified to try it.

A chicken...
I know.
A chicken doesn't fly.

(dialogue)

When squirrels fly and bats fly,
even annoying gnats fly.
When moths fly and fleas fly
and humble bumble bees fly.

Dandelion seeds fly
and birds of every breed fly.

But a chicken...
No, you're right...
a chicken doesn't fly!
All my life I have dreamt of this.
Man’s first attempt.
To say I flew before the flock.
This day I beat the cuckoo clock.

I have planned, look I’ve schemed,
to complete the research.
What began as a dream from the top of my perch,
hours alone in the dome of the church,
looking for a place to land.

(dialogue)

How will you stop?  The tops of the trees!
The wind could kill you; the slightest breeze.
What would I do?

Help, I’d hope.

Alright, you’re hovering.  I see you stall.
And as we’re discovering just how you fall,
what do I do?
